Project background
A client ordered a large batch of electric bicycles — the main units plus several hundred accessory parts — and asked for a pre-shipment inspection before the goods were released.
Electric bikes are consumer-facing products with strict workmanship expectations, so the client needed to know whether the batch was actually ready to ship or still needed rework.
What we did
We carried out an AQL-based pre-shipment inspection covering quantity, workmanship, documentation and packaging. The inspection found that workmanship defects exceeded the agreed acceptable level — with paint chips and surface stains counted across the sample — and that certain tests requested by the client had not been performed.
The overall result was recorded as failed. We delivered the detailed findings, photographs and video to the client so the decision to reject or rework could be made on evidence rather than on the supplier's word.
